Ability to purchase speed boost?

I'm currently on 100 mBit plan but when on the rare occasion that I need to download download a game or massive file why don't we have the ability to purchase a temporary add on like this since I am a solo wifi user I have absolutely no need to purchase 250-500 mBit packs all month long pointless waste of my money.
