Any performance boost with a new modem?

I am currently using an old Motorola SB6121 w/ 4 upstream and 4 downstream channels.  I am currently subscribed to the Internet Premier service, which is "up to" 150Mbps.  Would I notice any discernable boost in performance if I upgraded to a new cable modem (e.g, the SB 6190) that's capable of more upstream/downstream channels, such as 32x8?

  • The download speeds would see a improvement and at least be more stable with the redundancy with the additional channels. We do not currently use more then 4 upstream channels on our service though it would future proof the modem for both upstream and downstream for any future speed increases.
