Samsung Smart TV doesn't recognize wifi
Even when I manually enter the IP address I get error msg that it's an invalid MAC address. Never had a problem with it on Xfinity in 3 different homes in 2 different states! Maybe it's a Cox problem? My Mac picks up the signal fine. Tried to DL SaMsung update from their site (as suggested in another forum), but the TV didn't recognize it on the 2 dif ext drives I tried to load it from (prob a x-platform issue w/ Mac and Samsung-I know lots of their apps are android only)...Spent lots of hold time w/ samsung only to be disconnected!! HELP!!! I'M SICK OF THIS NOT-SO-SMART TV - - WHAT DID I PAY ALL THAT $$ FOR??!! I want my Netflix, Crackle and everything else back!!! Anyone else experiencing this problem? Tested using Cox Hot Spots, and home wifi and AT&T residential connection. All four Cox Hot Spots had the same problem, AT&T Uverse worked fine. Seemed to start when Netflix upgraded their app for Android.2.7KViews0likes0CommentsCox 8820 Remote not working correct with new Contour STB (Power/Channel/Volume conflict)
Our previous STB hard drive failed, so took it into the store and got the new Contour STB, which came with a new remote. It is the 8820 Cisco Remote, but Version 1.2 (our prior one was V1.1) Got everything setup, and ran the setup codes for a Samsung TV - tried a number of different ways (including the quick setup and the 4-digit device code entries), but could never get the new remote to work. In short the problem is this; With the STB and TV on for the first time, if I hit Volume or Power, the TV device blinks red and does what it is supposed to do (ie, controls the volume, or tuns the TV off and on). However, as soon as I change a channel the first time the device blinks over to CABLE and stays there. So volume no longer works (as it is trying to push volume through the STB and not the TV). Additionally when I go to turn the TV off it will turn off the STB and leave the TV on. The only work around is to constantly toggle back and forth between the TV and CABLE device buttons on the remote whenever I change the channel, adjust the volume, or turn off and on the TV. Interestingly enough the old V1.1 remove seems to work ok....so not a total bust. But that said I'd prefer to get the new remote working as we've about worn out the old one.2.6KViews0likes1CommentLog In issue with Samsung Skyrocket
I thought I forgot my password because my login in my email won't work. I went online in my desktop and my old login worked. I went to my Outlook and my login worked. I figured it is my email app in my Android so I downloaded CoxSync to test that theory but nope, my login failed in it as well using the same login I have on the cox.net and the same login on my Outlook. Is there an issue with the connection on Androids? Is this something related to my phone being infected somehow? What's going on!?2.5KViews0likes1CommentNew Smart TV - Explorer 2100 - HD?
I recently purchased a Samsung smart TV and currently have an Explorer 2100. What cable should be used for HDMI conversion with the Explorer 2100 so I can connect the new TV? If the Explorer 2100 is not HDMI compatible, then should I bring the box to my local Cox store for an exchange? Thanks.2KViews0likes1CommentNew Samsung TV remote does not completely respond
My LG died. I replaced it with a Samsung (4K) UHD 49 inch 7000 series. The Cox remote lets me access my recorded content, and turns on the cable box. It allows me to fast forward/rewind. However, it does not respond to any non-cable commands such as power and mute/volume. I have tried all the codes listed on Cox.com as well as several universal codes with zero luck. Do I need a different Cox remote, maybe? Thanks in advance. Cindy B.1.9KViews0likes3CommentsPicture in top left hand corner (SOLVED)
I got a new Samsung 55 inch QN90B neo QLED tv and started having a problem with a small picture in the top left hand corner of the screen every morning. Initially, to fix it it required a reboot of the Arris DVR or going to settings on the DVR and switching to 480p res and then back to 1080p. After many days of experimentation, I found that by disconnecting the HDMI cable to the TV overnight during the daily update, the problem did not occur. So the conclusion I came to was that there is some kind of interaction bewtween the tv and dvr box during the daily update. To isolate the TV from the DVR, I decide to purchase a HDMI splitter from Amazon for around $20.I connectedthe DVR HDMIoutput cable into the splitter input and connected one of the splitters outputs to the one of the TVs HDMI inputs. This apparently did isolate the interaction between the TV and DVR during daily updates and cured the problem.599Views0likes0Comments
