Netgear CAX80 combo modem / router. Router connection keeps dropping off several times during the day
I purchased this Netgear CAX80 in Oct 2021. At the time a high end modem/router ($400). I can say fairly OK for the last 17 months. However, during the last week (early Mar 2023) I've had to reset the modem multiple times during the day (3x) after loosing all the WiFi network connections. I have done the following w/o any successful results: 1. Changed the SSID name & paswords for all the netwoks 2. Changed the modem/router location 3. Plugged the modem/router directly to wall outlet (it used to be plugged to a power strip) Because the router is out of warranty I can't get proper support from Netgear Today, during another router outage I decided to test if hard wiring into the modem w/ ethernet cable I could get online. To my surprise, yes I was able to. So this tells me is therouter section (WiFi) of this modem causing the problem. Again, I had toreset the modem to get everything working again. This can't be normal Yesterday I called COX to check if they could help and the only thing they said was the normal ..."reset" ... which I know that resolves the problem temporarily. However, I shouldn't have to do that 3 or more times a day!!! Has anyone else run into the same problem? What solutions did you apply to fix the issue. Much appreciated for the forum feedback1KViews0likes6CommentsAdmin no Longer Able to Make Changes Due to MyWifi
I recently setup MyWifi as I thought it was interesting and thought I would check it out. However now that I have signed up for it the local admin portal does very little as it is being "automatically managed by cox". The changes that could be done on the app/MyWIFI seem really limited. How do I get back to being able to use my local admin to change my configuration? So far I have hard reset the router and looked through most, if not all settings / webpages to unlink the myWIFI. I also looked through this forum to see if this has already been asked, but no luck. I'm hoping there is a simple solution I am missing but if not I'll try my luck with customer service.461Views0likes1CommentI believe there are settings in my Cox router/account that are blocking the embedded video from displaying inside my LAN.
I stream video from IP cameras inside my LAN (Cox Panorama router) to a website hosted outside my network. Although everyone accessing my website (http://okiebirdcam.com) from their browsers can see my web page AND the video, I, inside my LAN browsing to the page can only view the HTML page, NOT the embedded video. I’ve tried using Chrome, Edge and Firefox and the problem remains consistent.872Views0likes1CommentNEW HP Laptop Disconnects Panoramic WIFI For All Connected Devices
HP 14" Stream Laptop in Royal Blue | AMD A4-9120E - 4GB RAM - Radeon R3 Graphics - 32GB Flash Storage Model:S14-DS0010NR We recently upgraded to Panoramic Wifi Gigablast Internet with Up to 940 Mbps download Up to 35 Mbps upload Unlimited data plan My app shows 12 devices currently connected the wifi including 2 Lenova Thinkpad work laptops, a Vivint Home Security System, a Brother Printer and multiple Amazon Firesticks. I show 4 other potential devices that could be connected. At any given time we are seeing 10 plus devices connected to the wifi. We are not having any issues with lagging / latency / speed or connection to wifi for all but one of our devices. Our son has a NEW HP Stream Laptop with specs listed above and since we upgraded to Panoramic wifi, anytime he wakes up his computer or logs onto the computer after shutdown, his device automatically connecting to wifi disconnects all other devices from wifi access. Essentially it causes a reboot of the router / modem itself as it takes about 5 minutes before the Panoramic Wifi is recognized by any device to connect to again. We have already confirmed the following: Different IP addresses for all the devices Most updated drivers for the HP laptop that is causing the issue Disabled several HP Services (indicated on other forumns) as possible cause This issue was not happening with our former plan and Netgear modem so we are suspect it has something to do with a Panoramic Wifi setting or other limitationas it relates to the setup of the HP laptop itself. We are looking for possible solutions that we should be trying.528Views0likes1CommentConfigure router directly?
I'm trying to modify the bitrate permissions on some of the devices connected to my router, but am unable to find such an option in the My WiFi options page on Cox's website. I tried to connect to the router directly by using its IP address, but Chrome comes back with an error claiming the router refused the connection. Is there any way I might be able to configure the router directly without using the atrocious My WiFi page? There's almost no options on it.2.3KViews0likes1CommentCan't forward ports
This is **. Just a couple months ago this was not a problem. I moved and my modem did a firmware upgrade. Now the port forwarding menu is just gone and replaced with a WiFi.Cox.com link. Except, when I click that link, it tells me to upgrade. When I click THAT, it tells me I am ineligible to upgrade.I contacted cox and they told me that the only upgrade I have left to buy is the cox complete care plan, which as far as I can tell is just tech support for people who don't know what they're doing. I'm a sys admin. I don't need help, i just need this feature.684Views0likes0Comments[BUG] TG2472G during router login
