On a Roku, how do I stream Cox channels I pay for
I have Cox digital and a Roku. I have managed to get some of the Discovery and History channels to stream on my Roku..Not live tv.. Yet other channels will not stream. Such as Boomerang cartoon channel, CBS live, ABC live, etc., that I pay for, through Cox. How do I get these channels to link to my Roku through my Cox account without having to pay additional fees for the channel? Is there a way to stream ALL Cox channels on the Roku? Is there a Cox Contour app for Roku? Thanks in advance for any, useful, help.32KViews0likes4CommentsROKU
Why is Cox the only provider that does not support Roku channels? I can watch History, Discovery, etc. on my Cox Cable, but have to get authorization from my provider to watch on Roku. Cox is not listed on the list of providers so those channels are not available to me if I choose to use the Roku TV.24KViews0likes5CommentsRoku FoxNews channel login problems
Up until about a week ago we had been using Roku to watch live streamof FoxNews on our Roku. The we started getting error which said the service provider is not allowing the content. After struggling with this for few days, finally got COX to tell me our COX password needed to be re-set. Why that was needed is a topic for another thread, but I set a new password. After removing the FoxNews app and re-adding it to our Roku lineup and logging in again with activation code and COX login, the FoxNew live stream worked again...until the next day. Then it was locked again. I had to remove it again, then log back in again. Then the next day is was locked AGAIN. What is going on that I have to keep logging in with with the activation code and cable provider once a day!?12KViews0likes7CommentsCan't pair Contour remote with new TCL Series 6 Roku TV
I just bought a new TCL Series 6 Roku TV and can't pair my Cox Contour remote to control it (power on/off, change inputs, etc.). I'm able to control my TV's sound with the Contour remote, though, but that's because I have a Sony soundbar that's connected to the TV via optical cable, and I was able to find a Sony code that let me pair it with the Contour remote. When I push the on/off button on my Contour remote, all that switches on/off is the Sony soundbar, and the TCL TV doesn't change state. I've tried all of the TCL-specific codes that Contour remote setup suggested, but none of them work, so for now I'm stuck having to use both the Contour remote and the TCL remote. Has anyone else encountered this issue where you can't pair the Contour remote with a TCL TV? If so, how did you fix it? Thanks in advance!Solved7.7KViews0likes1CommentSupport just said Contour is on Roku...
So I just got done ordering the contour service - internet plus TV via countour app - about 30 minutes ago. I asked about what it is available on and was told Roku, Firestick, Apple store and Play store. I questioned this as I found on the site that it said it was not available to Roku and Firestick or Apple TV. I was assured that it was available to those (Roku and Firestick but not Apple TV) as that was what the technical department was telling the person that was helping me. Let me clear up something right now - I know the difference between the Countour app and then individual channel apps that can be downloaded. We are talking about the full blown Countour app. After going through the forums here and doing some Googleing, it appears others are being told the same thing and have been told this for a while. Is this coming in 2019 then and it's just a little "stretch of the truth" as it's something being worked on, but almost ready, but not completely ready, but soon..... Is that the thinking? So COX, which is it and why are people being told you can download the Contour app on Roku or Firestick, when in reality you cannot? Is it coming soon? If so when?7KViews0likes1CommentShowtime for Roku - Not the "Preview"
Hi. You know how Cox offers HBO GO if you have a Roku box? Well, I just got showtime as well and I was wondering if Showtime has a channel like HBO GO (you can watch all episodes/seasons of a hit show) that is NOT the preview? Thanks. Ken4.9KViews0likes2CommentsRoku Activation for TV Channels
I use only Roku for TV and have a variety of channels I may select from besides Netflix to watch shows on. eg National Geographic, PBS and AETV Each selection requires submitting a code online to activate the channel, yet for some reason I am unable to do this with AETV Is there a reason Cox is not on the list of Providers? There seems to be hundreds to choose from, but because I cannot find Cox on the list, I am unable to unlock that channel Please take this as a request to get added to the AETV list. I see others with similar requests and have to say it makes you look quite a small player by not being on those Provider lists. Century Link is on those lists, yet you are not........... I have a new Roku which I am trying to get set up. Once I have completed this I am disconnecting the TV boxes and will be able to save some money each month. I will be keeping basic cable since it is free where I live. Gotta do what you gotta do when on SSA. I find with the Roku I get more channels than with Cox, I can select what I want and not have to get only what Cox offers in various packages. The only thing I have not found is how to watch the network channels for the series that I watch. I want to be able to watch these whenever I want and not have to either miss some shows or be tethered to my TV. Roku says that these are private channels and that is why they are not offered. In able to watch these free I need to contact my cable vender who should give me the codes. Once I have these codes then they will help me add them to my Roku so I can watch them. I have contacted Cox and was transferred 4 times to people who do not know these codes or how to access them. Has anyone else had any luck getting these codes? Or do you know the codes?3.3KViews0likes1CommentCox unavailability on Lifetime's Roku App
I went into Roku's Lifetime channel to watch a movie, only to be told to log in via their website. Upon doing so, however, I discovered that there was no option to select Cox. I can see from the forums that I'm not the only person to complain about this, so please add me to the list of people actively demanding a change to this situation. If there's going to be a middle ground between cable and streaming, then Cox needs to step up to bat with all of the major networks, and surely there's no question that Lifetime qualifies for major status.3.2KViews0likes1Comment
