Omaha NE Internet Outage (Partial/Intermittent) 2012-12-20
Perhaps due to the "blizzard" here in the Omaha, Nebraska area, there is a partial (and at times, intermittent) Internet Web (both HTTP and HTTPS) outage. This is over the COX Internet service, both business and residential (as I have checked on both types of COX networks). Some websites are notaccessiblefrom the Omaha, NE area. This has been occurring since very early morning (2AM), until at least now (7AM). Sites such as Facebook are unavailable. It would be great if COX would provide a "Status of our Network" page so we could see about these outages (time, expected return of service, cause, and those sorts of things). Other providers share this information. Why should I have to call or figure all this out by hand? I'd be surprised if any COX representative reads these forum posts, though.2.1KViews0likes0CommentsUptime
I live in Glendale,az. I use the internet in almost all of my free time. For me my internet goes out once every 2 weeks - a couple times a week. It's always late at night around 11pm- 6am. I get maintenance happens in that time. I have a weird sleep schedule and this is the time I'm usually using the internet. When I lived in Vancouver,WA and had century link my times of using the internet were the same except there the internet only went down about once a season (which was bearable). Is this normal in pheonix az?! For me this is infuriating. I keep my schedule tight and when it gets screwed up by an outage this often it's extremely tiring and definitely makes me want to try another isp. I look into the outage and it's always like O it will be back at 6am... right when I leave for work -_- yAy547Views0likes1CommentInternet outage in El Cajon, CA
Our internet service was interrupted on Saturday the 10th around 10a and is currently still down. I reached out to cox and they informed me that my outage is caused by the hurricane in louisiana which I have no idea how the hurricane in Louisiana is affecting me in San Diego, CA. My internet is still down and I have work to do and my kids also have school and we are depending on this internet connection for to this stupid pandemic. My issue is that I have called them over 8 times to get an update and estimate time of repair and they said that there is no time as to when it will be resolved.526Views0likes1CommentOkc Outage
Outage repair time was pushed back multiple times since around midday yesterday. Woke up today and still no internet, but also no more outage repair time. Luckily, people don't rely on internet to work from home, communicate with their loved ones, or anything else. Been seeing a lot of posts about sudden data usage spikes. I dealt with that last year too and they tried to blame me. With this outage nonsense, I'm glad I'm canceling my service this month.199Views1like1CommentOKC Outage Update
Not only did a moderator close off my discussion thread to replies from other users with potentially useful input, but I got the typical 'email support' reply. I did email support and here's a direct quote: "We were able to verify that we do have an outage remaining in the area. With the event being unplanned. We would be unable to properly provide you with a restoral time. We do look to have any outages corrected and restored as soon as possible." ...who exactly is this helping? Told me everything I already knew after telling me the outage was cleared in the area. Good grief Cox... If you are dealing with this, good luck folks.62Views0likes1CommentInternet Outage since Monday
Since Monday our internet has been out about 90% of time. Constantly getting unplanned outage notification with no ETA for when the service will be resorted. Reaching out to COX goes nowhere and they refuse to indicate the cause or repair time. Answers like sorry we are in Arizona and we have no idea what is going on in Alexandria, VA. Just a polite answer to subscribe to notification and our staff is working to restore service. Its a loop with customer service. I work from home and I had to take personal PTO to cover four days. You can at least be honest about the issue. So much for customer loyalty54Views1like1Comment
