Contour 2 for iPhone, iPad crashes
I recently got Contour in my home, loaded the app on my iPhone 6s (ios 10.2.1) and my iPad Air (ios 10.2.1). When I try to log in, I get an HTTP error on the both devices (HTTP Status 500 server encountered an internal error) from idm.east.cox.net. Same problem has been going on for 2-3 weeks. I have reset both devices several times, uninstalled and reinstalled the app on both devices several times with no success. I was just told by a support chat person that the Contour 2 App is down for "almost everyone" due to a "maintenance issue". True? Or if not, what is going on? This has been brought up multiple times and don't know how this hasn't been implemented, multiple people have been requesting to be able to watch recordings from mobile devices. This still hasnt been implemented and this is becoming a real deal breaker, the pricing of DVR service. When we switched to cox mobile from Verizon we were told that in home wi-fi calling was supported. Apparently it is only supported on iPhone and Samsung phones. We need this capability because our home does not have good connectivity to a cell tower. We knew this and made the decision to switch because of the wi-fi calling capability of cox. I have already escalated this through support and they have no answer except to refer to the web page linked above . Samsung phones were enabled in August 2023. I also asked about network extenders which we used to use with Verizon before they rolled out wi-fi calling. Cox mobile does not support network extenders. I know wi-fi calling is possible because we used to have it with Verizon on the same phones we currently have. When will cox mobile roll out in-home wi-fi calling for other android devices like a Google Pixel 7? If there is no firm date or at least a target date, then we will need to switch providers again. I wanted to unlock my device and for that i contacted support team via Chat. I had to wait 10-15 min for each response from Support while chatting. Very Poor Service and response.
