streaming issues at hulu and hbogo type sites
ok so i have a pretty decent desktop 12 gigs of memory, it is amd-a8-5500 apu with radeon 7300 series, up to date drivers. i typically use google chrome and have windows 8.1. when i try to stream video from some websites i get stuck in a buffering loop...it is not ALL websites, like cbs runs fine, starz typically runs fine...show time runs fine about 60 percent of the time. hulu and hbo.com will usually run fine for about 25% of a show and then i get stuck in a buffering loop. my game runs fine. i typically get between 15 and 30 mpbs of dl speed depending on what time of day it is...my upload speed is usually 6-12 mpbs....i have cleared cache of both the history and the flash variety...i have tried to use firefox and ie to stream to see if it makes a difference and it does not. i can find not evidence that any one thing is the culprit and i dont think its my windows 8.1 because i got my puter in september and the streaming problem did not start until the end of january or early february...i did reset to factory settings a few weeks ago to see if an update was the culprit, but to no avail. does anyone have any other suggestions?....i can download the shows i am watching and watch them just fine, but id rather stream directly from the channels if i can...i watch the shows for work purposes (i know, punish me)...and it is just easier for me to do this from my computer rather than dvr because of the way my tv is set up....that is really zoe's domain anyways. any suggestion out side of the normal...clear your cache and make sure no other programs are running, and you dont have a virus type stuff would be appreciated. ..also, i am hard wired in to my router...and it does not matter what time of day it is.....it also doesnt matter what time of month it is,so if cox throttles down after the 250 gig data cap (for unlimited internet *rolls eyes slightly*)....which i do apparently seem to hit sometimes as i work from home via a linux based system...... -- eveninthedarkness...allthecolorscanbefound5.3KViews0likes3CommentsPlease provide a status update on replacing the Flash-based web video player
Good day, As we're quickly approaching 2021, can someone please release a meaningful status update on the plan to replace the Flash-based web video player prior to the end of Flash support? I know this has beensought by customers repeatedly for over a year now; I'm confident that many of us would appreciate someexpectations management, particularly around the details ofanticipated browser support, mobile device compatibility, and service capabilities (e.g. ability to play back DVR content from the web console). If details are unavailable for public release at this time, please do consider replying with information on when they will be available and what channel(s)will be used to notify us. Thank you in advance. Kind regards, Steve Evermore559Views0likes1Comment
