spam filter settings missing in new webmail
the new webmail ** I never wanted or asked for churched up webmail. I have had to setup multiple filters to block spam that (after many years of none) has started to inundate my account. I have had to create filters to keep known good email addresses and other criteria. now emails that came in just fine are going to my SPAM folder. problems is I disabled ALL my filters and certain emails still end up in the SPAM folder. specifically xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com (where x's are the phone number) marking them as "not spam" does nothing other than put them in my inbox. the old spam settings seem to have disappeared from settings.2KViews1like41Commentsmyemail inbox filter rules - Any Condition no longer working
Why is the myemail inbox filter rules for any condition not an option. Seems to only have the option for all conditions must be met. I have rules in place for more than 5 years that are no longer working that still show the option of any condition but stopped working on 4/20/2020. Does anyone now why or have a fix or suggestion. I used this to filter SPAM since COX doesn't do a very good job of it on their own.514Views0likes2CommentsCox system won't "let" techs schedule service call to remove old filter, so no docsis 3.1
Hi, I recently upgraded to a DOCSIS 3.1 modem and Gigablast and I have what is pretty clearly the textbook problem where an old analog filter on the line blocks channels below about 600MHz, preventing DOCSIS 3.1 from fully working and limiting my speeds to ~600mbps. I can log into the modem's built-in spectrum analyzer and see that I have great signal down to 600MHz, where it abruptly drops off. The modem status page indicates I am only connecting on 20 channels, and the remaining channels have a null signal level. The status light on my SB8200 which lights green for DOCSIS 3.0 or blue for DOCSIS 3.1 is lit green. Despite all this, when I call Cox support, their "system check" says my modem is working "perfectly" and supposedly "will not let" them create the service call for the tech to come remove the filter. This should be trivial to address but I can't get it addressed. Has anyone gotten a similar issue resolved? Is there a moderator here who could reach in and get this call scheduled for me?1.7KViews0likes3CommentsInbox Filters Stop Working
I'm trying to make use of Inbox Filters on my enhanced email account. Cox support is terrible with regard to SPAM. I mean, the worst really. The support techs have zero knowledge. They keep trying to get me to switch on SPAMBLOCKER, which is not a thing in enhanced. It's like I have t spend 10 minutes convincing them that once an accout has migrated to enhanced, you can't login in to classic anymore. I do have Settings - Inbox - Spam Filter set - Delete SPAM, but all kinds of spam continues to come through. So, I'm using Settings - Inbox - Filters. Good idea, except that at some point, they just stop working. I d on't know if its some number of conditions or what, but they work for awhile, then stop. I've gotten rather sophisticated. I have a FROM filter, that uses "any condition" and a list of FROM conditions INCLUDE, that sends spam to a SPAM/FROM sub folder Same thing for a SUBJECT filter I even have an experimental one that tries to use ENVELOPE or HEADER CONTAINS, but I've never seen that one work. For awhile I get spam delivered to the sub folders as the filter catches them, then they just stop. Why?4.6KViews0likes8CommentsHow can I set my guide views to only show channels that are in my subscription?
We just switched from DirecTV yesterday. In general the Contour 2 whole home app is far and away superior to the DirecTV whole home system. However, the DTV receivers allowed you to show only the channels you subscribe to. This is really helpful to hide premium and foreign language channels that we couldn't watch without changing our subscription (or learning a new language, haha!) Cox support said I need to add ALL the channels in my subscription to my favorites. But that defeats the purpose of having a favorites list. And it appears I can only have one Favorites list. (Is that true?) Has anyone come up with a useful way to do what I'm trying to do? Thanks in advance!4.4KViews0likes4CommentsWhy is it that the "new" contour tv guide does not allow customization of displayed channels?
Why is there no option to only display subscribed channels or setup of multiple favorites list? I don't want to see hundreds of channels I will never watch. I sure don't want the kids to have access to ALL the guide options but when I;m watching tv I sure don't want to see a bunch of kids channels. There needs to be a way to set up multiple favorites list and/or guide profiles. The current "filter by All Channels, HD Channels, Favorites, Trending, Movies, Sports, and Kids" is not sufficient because that is what Cox determines to be within those categories, not what customer wants to personally see. A perfect example was trying to watch the Olympics, half of the channels the games were shown on were not considered sports, therefore they would never show up within a search. The Rio add-on within contour did not help either because it also did not include everything. I run into this issue every time sports are shown on local channels, Fox, ABC, NBC, etc.2.2KViews0likes3CommentsEmail filters don't work at all
I've had filters set up for months, most are "If subject contains..." then discard. Discard means REMOVE. It means do not even put it in my spam folder. Yet I have to come into my web mail and delete the spam folder periodically because email filters are not being even TOUCHED when mail comes in. I even get mail sent to my inbox about 5 times a month that is CLEARLY marked with a filter for deletion. It doesn't look like email filtering has ever even worked. The only filters that appear to work are the ALLOW ones, because you kept marking some legitimate emails as spam and after numerous arguing matches on the phone with you guys about your pathetically inadequate spam filtering that was my final resolution. Use a filter I'd RATHER use to block something for an ALLOW that I should not have to allow if your spam filters correctly saw that the emails were legit. And your system STILL flags some legit messages as spam when they definitely are not, I have to pay attention before dumping spam because after several years you still can't get it right and delete legit emails from my bank and others. What's most frustrating is that it isn't all the time, it's just once in awhile, they are definitely legitimate emails (I even had the abuse dept at the bank check one) that get dumped in spam because of your awful spam filtering methods. Yes, of course they are all checked On. Yes, of course the EXACT WORD or WORDS are the ones in the filter matching the one in the subject. No they are not containing characters replaced by ones that look the same but aren't, eg, a capital I being replaced by a 1. Feel free to examine the filters I have and what's sitting in my spam folder right now. Why are they even there?7.3KViews0likes12Comments
