Slow downloads for the last several days.
Happened to download a large firl on Friday. Noticed the speed was significanly slower than usual. Checked the speed then snf download was only running at 5 mbs. I normally run at 12 to 15 mbs. Just checked it again today and the download speed is only 1 mbs. That is slower than the upload speed. That is not what I am paying for. What is wrong with the download speed?7.9KViews0likes4CommentsCox Premier Only Downloading 36 Mbps
I recently upgraded to the Cox 50 Mbps (Premier) from 25 Mbps (Preferred) in the Manhattan, KS area (66502). I am currently only attaining download speeds of MAX 36 Mbps and upload speeds of MAX 12 Mbps according to Speedtest.net. I've tested this via a Macbook Pro hardwired directly to the modem, as well as wirelessly through an Airport Extreme base station (5th Generation). Furthermore, I utilize a personally purchased Motorola Surfboard SB6121 with the latest firmware pushed from the ISP, so DOCSIS 3.0 isn't the issue. Any suggestions?Solved6KViews0likes5CommentsZoom 5350
Anyone have best settings for the Zoom 5350, including wireless? I already found out about the "IP Flood Detection" option, but trying to maximize my combo modem/wireless router. Also, I tried finding firmware updates for this unit, but Zoom states it needs to come from Cox - any idea if this will happen?5.4KViews0likes2CommentsUltimate Internet only providing 25-35mbps...
Is anyone else having issues getting the advertised speed of 50mbps with the Ultimate plan? $109 a month seemsEXTREMELY steep for speeds that I was getting with the Premiere service. With Premiere I was almost ALWAYS clocking between 25-35mbps. It was always above the advertised speed. Now I feel like I'm getting ripped off only pulling up to 40mbps (very rarely). I have had techs out on 3separateoccasions what have all done the same work, checking connections and redoing the last guys work. They're are telling me it's going to be hard to get up to 50mbps because I have two PCs, two 360s, and one laptop. I always got between 25-35mbps with this same set up on Premiere. Our tower PCs plugged right into the modem don't get any higher. I WANT MY MBPS! I will not be paying $100 for the same service I was getting with Premiere.4.5KViews0likes4CommentsUnacceptably Slow Performance
For the past few days, and various times. Afternoon, evening, and late at night, our connection in the house has been fluctuating at an alarming rate. I believe we are on the preferred or premier package, one that offers 20-30mbps down. For weeks I've been seeing speeds just barely hitting around 20.50mbps download (on the days it works correctly) only for the connection to spend most of it's time at terrible speeds on other days. Example below: We had a tech come out several months back (this problem has been present off and on as far back as late 2012,) couldn't find a problem, had no idea what packet loss was, etc. It was worth mentioning Cox had been doing line maintenance in the area both before and after the problem was noticed. After their "maintenance," I started seeing it get as bad as the following: Is there anyone in the Hampton Roads area, specifically around Portsmouth (State of Virginia) experiencing issues like this? Can anyone at Cox shed some light as to what the problem might be? I've called the automated support number numerous times. I've power cycled the modem and router numerous times and checked all my lines and connections inside the house, it's nothing on my end, at least nothing I can do anything about personally to my knowledge. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.4.4KViews0likes5CommentsInternet download speed
I am paying for Cox High Speed Preferred internet which states it has up to 18mbps download speed. However, I have been testing my download speed weekly for the past three months and never get above 2.9. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I use 2wire.com for my tests.4.3KViews0likes3CommentsCox internet speed test
After testing internet speed on the Cox "dedicated" short highway and the speed is not the speed limits your tier service charges; will Cox reimburse me for not getting what I pay for [$52.99 per month] or will Cox see the tests run for a valid complaint ? Seems Cox uses speed test for what????3.9KViews0likes4CommentsInternet speed
I pay for my internet almost $50. Yet, cannot watch any video without buffering, loading, or failure to connect to internet. Laptop, blu-ray etc. The signal is terrible in my house, while my modem and router are upstairs, and blu-ray is downstairs connected through wi-fi, Netflix, VUDU nothing would play right. It's so frustrating, I'd agree for a faster internet as long as I know it would work good. Please help out3.3KViews0likes3CommentsExtra Slow Service
I would think if you spent good money on an upgraded service that you'd get the speed you pay for, or at least most of what you pay for. Unfortunately my 25Mbs service is getting about 10-12Mbs and a 80-120 ping on a day to day average. Is it possible my equipment is to blame, or is it just Cox not delivering what they get payed to deliver?
