Crazy/Spike/Low Upload/download speed.
For the passed 4 year's my family has suffered from crazy spikes, packet loss, and slow internet provided by cox internet. I have the 30DL/5UL plan, with reg/ cable TV. Issue with it is every few months I get huge packet loss, random disconnects, and slow speeds. this period last for a month or so of consistent calling of Tech support from Cox. Every time I call the support, I get the turn around. It's this, Its that, or try this or try that. I HAVE DONE IT ALL. I do all of it before I call and waste my time. With that being said, I will only go over this event for the sake of dignity to the cox support. 2 weeks ago, I started getting bad packet loss and Jitters. I ran my speeds on cox speed checker, Pingtest . net and speedtest . net. It is clear I was having issues since I was getting web hang ups and everything. I call tech support for them to only send out 2 techs. These techs plugged in their unit and that was it. Said they didnt see anything that is causing it. So few days after they left it stopped. Till about 2 days ago. I started noticing my uploading speed was spiking so bad. I tested it and dub checked it and it was coming back with solid download speed, but the upload was less than half '1.5Mbs' of what I am suppose to get '5Mbs'. I call cox about the issue, and all I get is the reach around. Sent to a Tech 2 support guy to tell me the same thing "cant find anything wrong" "Try this Try that.. Still nothing. Still getting ** upload. here is a set of upload/download speeds done directly on cox internet speed.. Now keep in mind when you see them, I pay for 5Mbs upload speed. The Download speed is actually higher than what i typically get. http://tinypic.com/r/2dvpqon/5 I have a tech coming out again tomorrow.. So lets see where this leads. Question is, Does anyone els have this issue?8.4KViews0likes7CommentsUltimate Internet only providing 25-35mbps...
Is anyone else having issues getting the advertised speed of 50mbps with the Ultimate plan? $109 a month seemsEXTREMELY steep for speeds that I was getting with the Premiere service. With Premiere I was almost ALWAYS clocking between 25-35mbps. It was always above the advertised speed. Now I feel like I'm getting ripped off only pulling up to 40mbps (very rarely). I have had techs out on 3separateoccasions what have all done the same work, checking connections and redoing the last guys work. They're are telling me it's going to be hard to get up to 50mbps because I have two PCs, two 360s, and one laptop. I always got between 25-35mbps with this same set up on Premiere. Our tower PCs plugged right into the modem don't get any higher. I WANT MY MBPS! I will not be paying $100 for the same service I was getting with Premiere.4.5KViews0likes4Commentsno access to internet tools
Does anyone know why i cant access internet tools. I just get a page saying "if you had cox internet, you would be here by now" chat support 3 times, 2 calls to phone support and supervisors. I need to add email addresses and I am getting frustrated. I feel they are providing half the service so i should only pay half the bill3.7KViews0likes3CommentsCox cucks me agian.
I tried to activate my account with the 300mps speeds. Cox told me that my modem doesn't support that. You can verify in their website that this is true (following link): https://www.cox.com/residential/support/arris--surfboard-sb6141.html BUT my modem 100% supports speeds that high and greater. If you go to the actual website of the modem itself you can clearly see that this modem supports over 300mbps (following link): http://www.arris.com/surfboard/products/cable-modems/sb6141/ Because of this Cox forced me to downgrade my package to 100mbps. Please just update your system to show correct information and give me my correct internet package back.3.7KViews1like0CommentsBogus e-mail heads up
I'm posting this more or less as a public service and to let security at Cox know that this is going on. I received the following e-mail today. I have verified that it is bogus, but since it does have its own website support at an address that could look convincing (i.e. http://coxcommunications.webs.com/) and they request e-mail replies, this could fool people. I would think if you spent good money on an upgraded service that you'd get the speed you pay for, or at least most of what you pay for. Unfortunately my 25Mbs service is getting about 10-12Mbs and a 80-120 ping on a day to day average. Is it possible my equipment is to blame, or is it just Cox not delivering what they get payed to deliver? Hey Guys, I want to know, How many have you been ripped off by COX like I did. I just got my first bill and I see , have been charged again for the past month where as I have already paid it in advance. Now when I call the customer care they see no payments and they are rude to the core. I have been around the US , I haven't seen any a customer service like this. There is no separate departmental help either. I am getting totally crazy on this kind of support , I cant understand. How cant they have no info about my payments when I have been already charged.2.8KViews0likes1CommentSince Cox never gives me the internet speeds I pay for, will they go down if I downgrade my service?
Title. I pay $100/month for 150 Mbps but never does it get any higher than 25, no matter when I speed test it. I connect straight to the modem via ethernet and can have no other devices and Since my current plan is "up to" 150 mpbs but Cox refuses to provide service close to that, can I just downgrade to the 50 Mbps plan without any change in service, or will they just throttle my internet even more?999Views1like1Comment
