Download Speeds Drop Dramatically At Night Between Certain Hours To Unusable Performance
I have theCox High Speed Internet Ultimate. When downloading files, I normally average approx. 2.4 MBPS. Recently, approx. the last 4 days, around 8-9 PM PST every night, my download speedscome to a screechinghalt to approx. 41 KBS - 240 KBS. This makes my internet almost unusable at nights. I work from home exclusively and I'm a Web Architect so I need reliable internet. I'm paying $100/mo. forCox High Speed Internet Ultimate but I'm not getting what I'm paying for! I have talked to Cox Support and of course they want to reset the modem etc. but none of that works. I know a technician is not going to come out at 9 or 10 PM. I'm assuming this is due to Cox needing to split a node? So what do I do? Setting data limits for wifi connect devices vs wired devices
the modem has UBee on the front, nothing else. i pay for premier up to 150mb/s but barely get 75mb/s I want to limit wifi users to 500 gigs. this way my wired devices will have the rest of the data aloud. I have to purchase my NHL TV thru internet due to the fact that i have a HD receiver. But games only come in Stander format on NHL Center Ice. Unless i pay more for a contour box. I pay over $300.00 per month. And being disabled, thats allot. But need my roku and internet.. please help, kids download 1 x-box game equals anywhere from 50-12o gigs thank you.1KViews0likes1Comment
Can I use my mobile devices to watch Cox TV On Demand shows?
Would like to watch Cox Cable On Demand and our Cox DVR Recordings from my Kindle HD Fire 8, Kindle HD Fire 7, and / or cell phone (LG Power, LG37G) when not at home. Is that possible? Specifically, the programs 'This Is Us' and 'This Is Us Aftershow' are of particular interest. How about other Cox Cable TV programs? I'm having issues trying to connect to www.gainesville.com iwas able to use a VPN to connect so i know this isnt a computer issue but everytime i try to connect without the VPN just through the cox cable modem it always says connection reset that it timed out...i might have believed that a couple weeks ago but they redid their site and it loads in seconds. please help2.1KViews0likes4CommentsModem Resets itself all the time
Hello, Our internet is dodgy at best. If we have 4 home devices on it, one or multiple start to lag tremendously. Also, the modem goes through spurts where it just resets itself over and over again. I erased all of our MAC Addresses, but I posted the log below. With my educational and professional background, it looks like the signal is not coming from Cox like it should. The signal is being lost somewhere. Any thought on what to do or look for? And, no, there are no splitters. There is a cable from the wall to the modem. We have 2 ethernet cables coming from the back of the modem going to 2 computers. Everything else is on WIFI. I am going through my Verizon data quickly and expensively. My phone and my families phones keep saying internet connection too slow to connect. Tried changing out on two different routers fairly new Asus Black Knight router is what we use. Still having issues 4-6 times a day I get this message. Laptops having issues and one Roku too but funny thing is one Roku has no problem. Ever. Did all the checks with direct plug in using laptop and no issues but then again it is for like a minute or two on and off. Longest time was 15 minutes and when I plugged in, it was fine. Often times now the laptops are all saying limited connection. My brother is IT and checked out my laptop and it was fine , adapter etc so he checked router but it too was fine. He says cox has had issues with packets showing downloading but actually no info coming in. He has talked to techs that come out and they understand his lingo on what issue was but still not fixed. He lives across street from me. I need to get the exact lingo from him and post here. Will do so when I can. Internet consistently drops from a stable position to 0 US/DS for about 1-2 seconds. Making it impossible to use anything that requires a stable connection. Not using Ethernet since modem is in an almost impossible to reach spot from last technician that came in. Upgrading to Dual Band modem is what made the problem occur. Problem began about 4 weeks ago, factory reset on PC didn't solve the issue, not correlated to High Disk Usage (mine stays at around 4%) and it is not a location issue, as the internet worked fine pre-dual band. http://imgur.com/i9EAgcF1.5KViews0likes1Comment
