YouTube TV, YouTube, and Apple Devices
This issue began around 9 PM July 28, US Mountain Time: YouTube TV and YouTube are no longer streaming over Cox Gigablast on an AppleiOS device - this includes iPhone, AppleTV, and iPad. YouTube and Youtube TV work fine over the same connection on a HP Microsoft laptop. Apple TV is connected via ethernet cable and I have confirmed download speeds over 900mbps. All other steaming apps work fine, including Netflix, HBOMax, and Apple TV. Only YouTube TV and YouTube do not stream. The iPhones and iPads are connected over Wi-Fi and neither app works. However, when we force those devices to use cellular only (Verizon), YouTube and YouTube TV stream correctly. We have reset the modem, deleted and reinstalled the YouTube TV apps, and reset the Apple TV. Nothing has worked yet. Any suggestions? Did Apple and Cox get into a fight last night?880Views0likes0CommentsApple HomePod disconnecting from internet
I’m running on a Motorola Surfboard modem and a Netgear Nighthawk router. WiFi has been great and has not had any issues. I have a Google Home, Amazon Echo, Nest thermostat, Hue bulbs, iMac, iPad, iPhone, PS4, etc. that work flawlessly on my WiFi. Yesterday I purchased 3 Apple HomePod devices and connected them to my network. Every minute or two they all lose internet connection, and about a minute later they work again. I’ve reset the devices and power cycled my modem and router but the issue continues. All other devices are working fine. I called Apple Support and ended up being handed off to one of their senior level techs. The first thing he asked me is if I had internet through Cox. He said that they have received numerous complaints similar to mine over the past 24 hours and the common theme is that everyone experiencing the issue has Cox as their internet provider. Has anyone else heard about this? The really strange part is how it is only affecting my Apple HomePods and everything else works fine. At any rate, they said their engineers are looking into it, but that it might be a good idea to contact Cox to make sure they are aware of the issue. Any advice on how to get this resolved would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.5.5KViews0likes7CommentsWhy are emails sent from Apple to my Cox address being blocked?
Starting Friday night my messages feature stopped working on my iPad. After lengthy diagnostics with Apple I have come to find my email address can not be verified by Apple. I've used the same email for 12 yrs. one of Apples senior technical support advisors attempted to email me while we spoke. The email was immediately returned to him as blocked. I have not blocked them or anyone for that matter. The Cox support staff has been anything but supportive, telling me to wait 48 hrs before contacting them again.4.8KViews0likes14CommentsGigabit service, IPv6, and Apple Time Capsule
I recently started the Gigabit service which became available in my area (north Phoenix). Service has been great up until about a week ago when I started experiencing intermittent connectivity issues and problems with my Apple Time Capsule which I use as my wifi access point off my primary router gateway. I have seen different issues on these topics in the forum so I am not sure what the cause of connection issue might be. Couple questions. Has IPv6 been implemented in my area thus necessitating that my gateway router and wifi clients be compatible? Are there any settings e.g. DNS and/or IPv6 I need to change on the Time Capsule to get it working. My router gateway is assigned a public IP but my Time Capsule connected off the router shows "disconnected" for Internet. Right now I am not sure what the root cause is for my issue. To troubleshoot I have bypassed all devices plugging a netgear router directly off of the gigabit fiber modem/device and I have no issues which leads me to believe the problem is with Apple device but I have read about different problems so I am uncertain. Any ideas or help??2KViews0likes1CommentCisco modem 3010 and airport express router
Last two mornings I had to reset the modem (Cisco 3010) to connect to the Internet. I've never had this problem before. The modem lights are all normal (green) and the router (airport express) is normal as well but internet is disconnected. Once I reset both modem and router all is fine during the day. Any advise is appreciated.Solved2.6KViews0likes4CommentsTypical Cox customer (dis)service
Can anyone else ever get any of the customer website to work on a Mac? I've tried Safari (7.0.3, on Mavericks), Chrome (34.0.1847.131) and Firefox (28.0). As soon as I login, no matter which path/site I select (usually View/Pay Bill) the browser is blank. I've looked at what's sent to me using Firebug and it says the HTML body is <body><pre></pre></body>, so they apparently are sending a blank page. You'd almost think they don't want my money, but we all know better than that.2.1KViews0likes1Commentiphone and wifi
I can't get my iPhone 5 with IOS 7 to connect to wifi at home. I have called the tech line about four times and no one could help me and have called Apple. Does anyone have any recommendations? My internet on my computer and other devices for wifi works just fine, just not on the iPhone.2.6KViews0likes1CommentIMAP Mail Not Synching and More With Apple Mail (Mac OS 10.9x)
Hello, Is there a fix and/or is there a support case that addresses IMAP email accounts not syncing with Apple Mail in Mac OS 10.9x (Mavericks)? Ever since the upgrade to Mavericks (and taking that opportunity to switch my email accounts from POP to IMAP), all Cox accounts have not been synching with my desktop Mac, but have worked flawlessly with the same accounts on an iPhone and iPad. It takes closing/opening Mail to make things right again. This has gone on for a month now, but just within the last few days I have sent messages and there has been no record of such in my Sent Folder (either on any device or via WebMail login). Some emails have made it to their destination, while others haven't. This issue is growing with other Apple customers as seen on their forum site. I have called Apple and Cox, spent hours on this issue, all without any solutions. In the end Apple blames Cox and Cox blames Apple. Regardless, there seems to be no progress by anyone to finally correct this issue. For what it is worth, here is the most persistent error log entry for email that is sent and lost: 12/12/13 12:43:54.448 PM Mail[47011] Error Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=60 "The connection to the server “imap.cox.net” on port 993 timed out." I use a Motorola SB6121 for a cable modem and airport extreme for wireless router. The motorola is 5 months old. For about ten days we experienced wide variations in wireless connectivity, from .5 mps download to 30 mps. This was entirely new after 5 months of cox internet service working great. I spoke with COX and they checked signal strength on live, walked me through a series of reboots of modem and router. They checked the signal on their end. They said it was not a problem on their end. I spoke with motorola and they walked me through a series of diagnostics and resets of their modem. The signal via a direct Ethernet cable from the modem to the computer worked great at that time. I spoke with Apple and they ran me through diagnostics and finally replaced by airport extreme (it was under warranty). Results: 1. When I first hooked up the router and the cable modem after the router was replaced, I had a great signal -- 32 mps, which is as good as it gets here. 2. 4 hours later the connection dropped and then became very slow. 3. I plugged the cable modem directly into my computer and got a full signal. I left it oversight doing an offline backup. 4. The connection was lost during the night with a direct hookup to the cable modem. It seems the problem is clearly not the modem or the router but something in the cox system, as none of these pieces of equipment causes the problem. They are new equipment. What shall I do?Solved3.8KViews0likes2Comments
