Slow Speeds + Terrible customer service
Internet only plan: Preferred 100 Internet Service - up to 100 Mbps download mLab speedtest: Network Latency: 84 msec round trip time Jitter: 47 msec Upload Speed: 7.16 (Acceptable) DOWNLOAD SPEED: 15.62 - UNACCEPTABLE I have tried numerous times to find a resolve for our ridiculous slow speed, yet not one proper customer service rep (oxymoron) has assisted me. The last conversation I had I was told that we're on a light plan and it was to be expected. Over $70 per month for a light plan? THIS IS RIDICULOUS. There are no gamers in the house, and only 2 young children that watch cartoon based shows. #Cox needs to pick up their game here.1KViews0likes1CommentDownload speeds <1Mbps but upload ok at 4 Mbps
For the past week I've been having horrible download speeds which seem to have started when there was an outage nearby due to a storm. I'm in the Fairfax/Northern VA area. Reseting the modem has not helped and neither has going directly from the modem to the PC. Consistant download speeds the past week in the range of 850 kbps Please assist. Random internet drop out, Loss of connection, reload error messages, terrible streaming issues, I had better internet five-ten years ago. I dont understand it at all. My speed test shows good, But on any given day I have to reset my router two -three times per day. I have tried chrome, opera, internet explorer. I have scanned my computer for viruses and malware using all my tools that I use to fix those issues. IE, combofix, malware antibyte, hijack this, spybot, etc... I have tried browser safe modes. I even up'd my network bandwidth to see if that would help, It has not. The support department has told me that my network bandwidth never ceilings, so If my router AC1900 is a decent enough router regardless of traffic at any given moment if my bandwidth is not ceiling'd then throughput should be decent enough to get packets in time to avoid, service connection error messages. The messages I am getting are of the type that a packet was sent out and a packet was not received back in the desired amount of time so chrome shows the error reload page a network change was detected. Do I need to up my service bandwidth again? I have four pc's in the house no smart tv's 2 kindles and 3 phones, But I have trouble shot this by making sure that all devices except one are running at a time and I still get the error messages. 2 of the pcs are hard wired, 2 of the pc's are wifi and it does not seem to matter if the connection is wifi or not. Should I be looking at Electrical noise as my issue? maybe get a AC filter? Support has been out multiple times with no fix. They even stated once that they did see an issue but it was not inside the house it was down the street somewhere. that they would fix. I have been a customer for 2 years now, I cant get any other service provider where I live. Desperate, I don't have tv account as I watch all my shows online... Any thoughts?5.9KViews0likes14Commentslagging while on xbox one
My family has a connection that is supposed to be at 30 mbps and my family members are on netflix a lot on the xbox 360 and I've noticed that i can not play a simple game on my xbox one without crazy lag, watch a live stream, quickly browse the internet it's basically as if the internet is useless until they get off of it. Is this common for Internet at this speed?2.7KViews0likes3Comments
