Poor HD TV Reception
Why are my Cox HD Channels pixelating? The analog channels are fine, but the HD channels stutter? This is especially noticeable on channel 1010, Fox 10 HD in Scottsdale, AZ. I reset my cable box, and the same problem exists. The problem occurs on multiple TV's. The problem has occurred for approximately one week. I get tiling on two of our boxes when there happen to be 3 or 4 of them on at once (worse when it's two DVR boxes). This has happened for some time where it would tile out and correct in a decent amount of time, but I absolutely lost it this past weekend. It happens most notably on HBOHD and happened for over a minute. I've called and complained about this in the past and they sent a tech out to check the lines, and it turned out there was a line that was bad, a company came out and fixed it and that helped it, but didn't alleviate it. I've had the techs reset the boxes, and I've even cleared the memory (7 up/7 down) on it and it still happens. It's increasingly frustrating, I miss the punch line in jokes or the jokes entirely all due to the tiling happens to such a degree like I've got satellite in a hurricane. It also happens on Fox Sports Oklahoma (during football & basketball games, even on the replays hours later). It's forced me to watch the channels in non-HD on an HD box because the tiling isn't as bad - yes it doesn't even fully go away on the non-HD channels. I look to you for an answer. Please assist in this matter.3.1KViews0likes4CommentsHD CABLE RECEIVER BOX
Hello, I have Economy TV channels, a HD TV and a cable box. I want to get rid of the cable box and just connect my TV direct to the Cox cable..I did this, scanned but no channels were there. Does Cox have to re-program or come out to me ? Thanks ~Solved3.2KViews0likes5CommentsProblems recording HD channels with Contour
I have the Record 6 Whole Home DVR (9865HDC) along with the client receiver (4742HDC) in a separate room that is supposed to enable us to watch DVR recordings in either room. However, at least once a week, I have a show that I recorded on a HD channel that will not play on the receiver in the separate room. It will either just freeze up or tell me the recording is unable to be played. When I come back to the main unit (that is the actual DVR), that same show will usually play, however, when I try to fast-forward or rewind, the time indicator slide will not move and the screen remains frozen. If I just let the show play, it will indeed play, but there is no way to fast-forward or rewind. I'm on my 3rd unit in a year so not real excited about getting another one and having to set everything up all over again. I've also called customer support and they reset the unit, but that does not help. It's been different HD channels at different times and different days, so absolutely no pattern to when or where the error occurs. Anyone else have this problem?1.5KViews0likes1CommentNot getting the same channels on our different cable boxes
We have a total of 4 HD receiver/boxes, one is the new style Contour box, and the rest are the old Scientific Atlantic boxes, one of which is our DVR. I noticed last night that I have access to additional HBO HD channels on the Contour box which are not available on the other boxes. We pay for HBO, so why would we not have the same HD channels available on all the HD receivers? This doesn't seem right. Anyone else having this issue?2.2KViews0likes2CommentsNBA league pass
Now that Cox has eliminated TV without the mini-box do you still need Contour to get NBA league pass in HD? TiffanyR Posted by TiffanyR 8 Feb 2014 8:19 PM Hello Mick.young751, Contour service is required to view the NBA League Pass in HD, though some games may be offered without it. The HD option has become available with the addition of the Contour receiver and the extra bandwidth that it allows. Tiffany R. I have been viewing local HD channels on my Sharp digital TV for over 5 years. Last week I got a "No broadcast" error. I tried rescanning but they are no longer there. I called Cox support and was told I needed a digital receiver to view local HD but this is not correct - the Cox website says TVs with QAM something can received these channels without a digital receiver. Can anyone tell me why I lost my HD channels? I recently downgraded from premium to economy but the channel listing for the economy package lists the local HD channels.9.8KViews0likes18CommentsSeveral HD channels do not function
Hello, Several of my HD channels do not function. They will either have sputtering audio and pixelated pictures, or say "Temporarily Off Air." The Standard definition channels work fine. I've tried restarting the box, reconnecting the cable cord, to no avail. My cord is not connected to the receiver through a splitter. It's the only TV we use in the house. Any suggestions? It makes football watching on the HD channels impossible, for example.4.5KViews0likes8Comments
