extra charges

I recently moved to a new residence.  My old residence had Cox and I wanted it at my new place also.  I was told all I had to do was bring the cable box and modem to my new residence.  Well I did that but only one line over here worked so a tech came out and put a splitter on the coaxial cable so another line wouldn't need to be repaired.  Took only about 10 minutes and both internet and cable went thru that one line so he left.  Well when my next bill came in i almost fainted when I saw it went from $162 to $511 due to several "one time charges".  Can't wait till my 2 year contract with cox is up so I can switch to AT&T for internet and tv if this is how cox is now treating long time customers.

  • Hello Ken13,

I am sorry to hear that your bill was so unexpectedly high. We would be happy to look into this and help figure out where the one-time charges came from. When you have an opportunity, can you email my team at with your name, address, and a link to this thread?
