Data light on my Contour Box is a steady yellow, beginning yesterday. I reset it and it went off.Today when I turned it on it was back to yellow. This is reported on DSL Reports as well. What gives?
I’m in Irvine, Cali. Yellow light came on Friday and stayed on ever since. Everything else is normal.
Cox knows about the issue but based upon the various replies here, there doesn't seem to be a known solution.

It's not like continuing to drive a car with a warning light on. Cox will probably figure out what's causing it and fix it eventually. In the meantime, if the DVR is otherwise working, it may be time to break out the duct tape and just cover that offending light.
I have the same issue. Mine started about two weeks ago. I looked the issue up and found where if there's a notification the light will be lit. Checking I did have a notification. I cleared that and the light went off for about a couple of days, but now it's back on but there aren't any notification or anything pending. Resetting the box (twice) did not solve.
Anyway, having just got off the phone with Cox's tech support they had no clue. I got everything from the box is recording to "its normal for the yellow light to be on". In fact the person I spoke to wasn't even aware of a yellow light. But somehow miraculously, they somehow knew it was "normal for it to be on all the time"
Anyway I see I'm not the only one with this weird issue so... and as noted, there are no performance issues so...
So if it makes no difference, and if there's no issues while the light it's on, why waste your time and blame people for not knowing why or how the light is on,
You could have easily asked, is this normal, then is it causing issues? No??? Then move on,
It's different if you wanna know, than wanting to fix a non existing problem..
You my friend, make a bigger deal than it has to be
