I have lots of programs set up to record automatically on the Contour DVR. All was well until a couple of weeks ago when one program mysteriously stopped recording (The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson on Antenna TV). I have deleted the program from the series and added it. When this happens the programs shows up in Scheduled but then disappear soon thereafter. Rebooted a number of times, no change.
Not sure if this is happening to other programs.
Any help appreciated.
Is your receiver a Contour 1 or Contour 2?
Contour 1

When you select "Series Manager" and then select any program from the list and press the "B" button, does a "Modify Series Priority" list display or do you see an error message?
I do see Modify Series Priority.
I can see Johnny Carson and that list but I cannot select it.
If you're able to see the "Modify Series Priority", it means there isn't a corrupted entry that would prevent a collection query from executing. Had you received an error instead, your solution would have been to individually test each entry until you found the corrupted one and then delete it. However, if you're unable to select the "Johnny Carson" entry, you can't delete it. I don't think I've seen this before. Sorry.
Well. That **.
Understand I'm in full experimenting mode now... but you might try adjusting series priorities for programs around the "Johnny Carson" program to see if that does anything. But, the results are unpredictable. It could help, do nothing, or make things worse. It's up to you.
I will. I have found odd things before. i do appreciate your help.
I made sure every instance of anything relating to Carson was deleted and then rebooted the system again. I then played with the priorities and it let me select it and moved it to number one in priorities. That is progress. i will wait and see if it works later. Also, is there a upper limit of series you can have set at any one time?
It sounds like you're good to go. As far as I know, there isn't a defined limit on the number of series that can be setup. The developer may have assumed no one will ever have more than 99 though, because the "Modify Series Priority" box is only wide enough for two digits. But, a 100+ number will display into the yellow description area.
And it worked. Thank you.
