Slow upload in orange county, ca

i was contacted by a cox person (sales-door to door) about how the new fiberoptics are now in in my area and would i like tv etc. During the conversation he hsaid i could get a new modem at the cox store that would be more compatible with the increased speed possible with cox. (It turns out it is $90-not free).

Anyway i tested it on speedtest.net and i have 5.5 download and 1.1 upload speeds. trying to send photos and do other things has been very difficultfor a long time. any comments?

    Having a hard time fallowing your post to be honest. So a Cox salesman came to your door and offered you faster speeds, but said you would new a new (DOCSIS 3.0) modem?

    Did you get the new modem? If so, which model? 

    Also, are you connecting direct to it, or through a router?

    Last, did you upgrade your tier too (how much you pay a month) or just get the new modem?
