With the original Contour I could choose from a few minutes to 6 hours extra DVR recording time. With COntour 2 you basically made any thing over 30 minutes obsolete. I have a certain sport that I wa...
Hi Rexx, when you set up the recording initially, we would recommend extending the recording, http://bit.ly/2ZIJ6JC. For live events, the options are 30, 60, or 90 minutes late. Recordings of some live sports events will be extended automatically for overtime or extra innings. However, by extending the recording manually, this helps to resolve the issue. -Kevin M. I really think you guys should fix this on your end. These live Boxing matches should also have the automatic extended feature built-into the Contour 2 box.
For example, the rerun fight tomorrow, I only had the option to go over 30 minutes. Though tomorrow's fight is not a live show, I doubt it will start and end on time as it's scheduled -- since it seems to be in the same time bracket (time length) as it was today.
And since it's going to be broadcasts on a sports channel, earlier programming can also cause it to never start on time and etc.
I think I will have to do some trick where I also try to record the two scheduled shows after that fight, so I make sure I record the main fight.
This has happened before to me, and this is why I think you guys need to fix this on your end.
And keep in mind that with fights, the main fight is the one on the end of the broadcast -- so if the DVR cuts off early--well, what's the point? lol
Rexx, I have submitted your feedback to our back-office team who handles Contour 2 Guide Enhancements. We cherish your feedback, and we thank you for continuing to be a valued Cox customer. -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator
Today another unsuccessful attempt to finally see the fight I missed yesterday. It seems that this 3 fight event, only got to show the first fight, but sometime after the first fight ends, FS2 went dark and it's been like that for a while. Seems the channel is having some issue.
Luckily I will get to try again at 7AM to try to record this fight again (plus a few time more this week). Third time is a charm?
It's moments like these when I ask myself, why am I paying so much for cable TV and all it's faulty gizmos? I could have seen this fight yesterday via free-air antenna and with a self-owned DVR recorder.
It happened again during the fight of Boxing: PBC: Adam Kownacki vs. Chris Arreola (Saturday, Aug. 3) on channel 5. Even when I opted for an extra hour, it got cut mid-fight during the main fight. Jesus, when is Cox tech going to fix this? Can't they simply update the firmware so "Live" boxing matches don't get cut off during DVR until the "sport" is over??!!
Both Baseball and Soccer live games seems to not suffer from this issue, please update so live boxing matches also have that auto extend DVR feature built-in.
I hope American Football doesn't have this issue, this will be my first season with Contour 2.
