Recorded programs pause and jump when replayed

All recorded shows on my dvr all of a sudden now pause and jump sporadically.  Additionally, if I rewind or pause live TV, it does the same thing...pauses, jumps, garbled audio, etc.  Please help wit...

My reboot did not work. Problem seems to occur on cbs at certain times but not others.
