new tv old cable box
I just bought a new Smart TV. My cox cable box is about 6 or more years old. My old TV is 12 years old. Do I need a new cable box to hook up to HYDMI*?

I have called cox and they said I need a new contour s box as my box is 6 years old.

My Rovi box is 6 year old (2012) has component connections and still works.
Be careful what your get at the Cox store because they'll try to oversell (over rent) you with DVR srvice, paks, premium channels, etc.
