Is there an alternate way to end service for a deceased customer WITHOUT taking the death certificate in to a store in person?

My grandmother died in November and I've tried to cancel her service many times but they require me to go to the store and bring a death certificate. ATT didn't even need me to go to a store and said...

Hi Gran2018, I am sorry this has been such a headache during your time of loss. The policy was recently changed to try make things as easy as possible for our customers. If you simply want to disconnect the account, a death certificate is no longer required. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator

    Wow. That would be amazing. What is the process for getting service disconnected? Can I just call in?
