Cox without the box?
Is it possible to watch without the contour box? Can I just run the cable straight to the TV and scan for channels?
Thanks CurtB. So I'm trying to avoid having to use 2 remotes (this is for my 84 year old mom) and frankly the interface on the Smart TV is so much more intuitive and easy to use so looking for a solution where the channels will be right there on the TV's homescreen next Netflix and all that other good stuff.
Sounds like I might be out of luck though.
Netflix will need a Contour 2 box.
It's a smart TV so apps for Netflix, Disney, Prime Video, etc are already on the home screen, can stream them no problem and it's much faster and easier to use than the Contour's app interface. She has the Contour, not happy with it, looking for a way to get rid of it and just use the Smart TV interface and remote. I know that years ago you could just run the coax straight to the TV and get local channels (pretty much all she watches) but it sounds like it doesn't work that way anymore. I'll probably call Cox tomorrow and see if they got something I'm not thinking of.
Cox changed to an all-digital signal a few years ago which prevents being able to run the cable directly to the TV as you were once able to do.
