Cox Equipment Upgrade?

I received the famous email from Cox saying I had to upgrade my equipment or lose service.

Went to the Cox store and they were clueless but put in an order. A tuning adapter arrived in the mail. I have a Tivo with a cable card and have not used a tuning adapter in years. Returned it long ago. I took my Contour 2 tuner to the store and they took it and said to keep the remote because the tuning adapter did not include one.

At this point I have the new tuning adapter, the remote from the old Contour box and a cable card.

If we do not need a tuning adapter now, are we really going to need this one?
