I recently got Contour with Panoramic WiFi.
I've had the TV on in the background while I work. It's been on the same channel, for nearly 5 hours and I haven't changed anything (volume or channel). Contour popped up a banner asking if I'm still watching the TV and that it would put the Contour to sleep.
As the original poster said, the power settings show "Power Saver OFF".
Why is Contour trying to turn the TV off when the preferences say the power saver mode is disabled?
Jyunte, check to see if the sleep timer is on. Press the MENU button to access the menu. Press the Down Arrow to highlight the Settings option, and then press Select. Press the Down Arrow to select Timers. Press the Right Arrow to highlight Sleep Timer. Thank you,

As stated in both the original poster's message, and my message, above...
...the power settings show "Power Saver OFF".
There is no Sleep Timer setting on the Contour unit, anywhere in the menu system. There is no "Timers" option anywhere in the menu system.
The only place where any kind of power setting can be chosen is Settings->Device Settings->Power Preferences->Power Saver, and as I've said already, that's set to OFF. The help text that goes along with this setting says, "Your TV Box will go to sleep after 4 hours of inactivity..." which is exactly what is happening, but the setting is "OFF", so it should not be happening!
It is not the Screen Saver setting either.

Contour and Power Save Mode (cox.com)
Something may have caused Power Saver to get out-of-sync.
Power Saver appears to control what happens when the TV is turned off and what happens after a specified period of inactivity. According to the documentation above, the receiver should power down when the TV is turned off when Power Saver is ON. Does your receiver power down when you turn the TV off with Power Saver OFF? If it does, that would indicate the setting is out-of-sync. But, even if it doesn't, the other part of the setting could still be functioning incorrectly.
If I understand it correctly, Contour with Panoramic WiFi is IPTV. According to the documentation above, the receiver should not go into standby mode after a period of inactivity when Power Saver if OFF.
Reboot the box. Then cycle Power Saver "ON" and "OFF" again. If the box still goes into standby after the period of inactivity, turn Power Saver "ON" and leave it on. If the receiver then stops going into standby after the period of inactivity, that part of the setting is out-of-sync. If that happens, you may have to decide which incorrect function you prefer... standby when the TV is turned off or after a period of inactivity.
It's also entirely possible the Power Saver setting doesn't control anything at all.

Just FYI... rebooting the Contour system, cycling the Power Saver OFF, ON, and OFF again did not fix the problem. It's clearly another of the many annoying bugs (and poorly thought out features) in the Contour system.
