Charging for a new remote?

I cannot believe that after being a customer for at least 20 years, and paying $200 a month for service, when I requested a replacement remote I was told I'd have to pay $20 online with the rep or $10 in the store.  Cox - have you no shame.

    Was your remote lost or damaged?  If damaged, what was the issue?  Did you inform the Cox rep?

    Was the person who said there would be a charge a solution store rep or an online/phone rep?

    Did you return the old remote to a Cox solutions store?

    Did you provide information identifying yourself and the service address?

    Had you recently replaced a remote?
