can't pair remote

we got a new tv (RCA model RTU4300) I can't get the contour xr11-rf remote to pair. I have tried thru the contour menu process and also the 'setup' and code route. also tried the factory reset on...

it's not listed, i have to type it in and populate it

I have to run my Remote Setup.

Press A on the remote

Select Remote Setup

The first step:  Do you want to use your remote...

Do you click "Yes?"

    yes. it pairs as to voice function, just not volume and power. i should have said that. i go thru the rest of the steps and it gets to the "It works!" / "It doesn't work" buttons but it does not work. clicking "it doesn't work" just guides me to repeat the steps. thanks

      After clicking "It Doesn't Work," doesn't Contour list more codes to try?

        no. it states "looking for problem" and then goes back to the "ready to pair" screen where the only button to press is OK
