Cox encourages all negative and positive feedback, so I thank you for taking the time to post. We truly intend only humor with our commercials, but I think we all interpret things differently. For example, I know that a commercial I enjoy actually irks my best friend. I have forwarded your comments to our marketing team so your voice will be heard.

After this brat runs through the house screaming at the top of his lungs the mother rewards him with ice cream
What part was humorous? If Cox "truly" intended humor, the mom would have painted ice cream on a wall and sniggered after the kid ran into it like Wile E. Coyote...or just hired comedians.
"The ends justify the means." The intention of Cox isn't humor. "Humor" is just the means. The intention of Cox is to dupe you into identifying with the commercial. If you can associate this kid to your kid(s), you're identifying with the commercial. After you identify with the commercial, you'll identify a potential problem (distressed kid). What's the solution? Anybody? Cox is your solution...d'uh.
The intention of Cox is to sell you family values. You need Cox to nurture, protect and raise your kids. Most commercials nowadays target you with emotional appeal, guilt, insecurities to persuade you. It works! Who would ever rent a router? Should I rent computers as well? I wanna be woke!

The point of the ad is to show mom's love after her kid gets duped by Cox internet. I very much enjoy it!

Allowing a child to freewheel on the Internet would be equivalent to leaving a stack of adult magazines in their hallway. I guess mom has reactive love as opposed to proactive.

PJS2, Wait a minute—you actually "very much enjoy" a commercial that starts with a child screaming at the top of his lungs in a pitch so high that it makes dogs howl?? If you close your eyes and just listen, you'd swear that kid's eyes were being gouged out. And that horrendous SCREAM is at the beginning of the commercial, so you don't even have time to mute it or get out of the room. I've heard that screaming child over a hundred times now. It's ASSAULTIVE. And to reward us all, there's now a SECOND COX COMMERCIAL with that same screaming child. It's torturous. I've never liked Cox Cable. Their service is terrible. But they've always seemed like the lesser of evils. However, they're forcing us to listen to that screaming child over and over again, which is enough to cause PTSD, has convinced me to dump them. They think that forcing people to listen to that screaming child over and over again is a way to ATTRACT customers to their service?? That tells me how absolutely stupid they are. Cox's CEO should be made to sit through a day's worth of auditions of screaming children for their next commercial. Maybe they can get a whole chorus of brats screaming at us in unison through our television sets. What better way could there be for them to attract more customers to Cox Cable?
