I'm having same issue since I signed up for Cox. Recently it just got worse, keeps disconnecting 20 times a day and too much packet loss, chat support not helping, technician came yesterday but it's still not improving. I'm cancelling Cox next week. Good riddance!
- Allan4 years agoModerator@Breakingbad920, I know how frustrating packet loss can be and it looks like we need to take a closer look into this issue for you. Please send us an email with your full name, address, and a brief description of this concern to cox.help@cox.com. -Allan, Cox Support Forums Moderator.

Nope, I switched to Centurylink DSL, paid already. The speed may be slower but it's much more stable. I had used Centurylink in the past for 6 years and I don't even remember if I had downtime or outage, especially no packet loss or high ping. Train your support better so they don't read through the scripts and try to upsell each and every of their customer, "Cox Complete Care" is **, Cox will keep losing customers if they keep doing this. You should help OP instead of me. Thank you and have a nice day!

Ha that got me laughing. Using my tmobile 4G hotspot and having no issues. It was funny each time they tried to scare me into a fee by sending someone out they pitched the cox care... Im an 8 year customer. Cox care is a complete scam/scare. That would of been $120/year times 8, completely wasted and I would still be in the same boat..
They dont care about the service they are providing at all.

Is the T-Mobile service you are referring to?

Yes but i just use the hotspot service on my cellphone with them. I do not have that actual plan yet.
First cox has to try everything in their power to bill/blame the customer. Then they will start to attempt to troubleshoot. Its so backwards.
Working with my neighbors tonight to help them setup ping plotter, see if its an issue affecting others or just me in my area.

You're not wrong. These moderators do seem a bit robotic. You have to remember though, Cox expanded a lot in the 90's and 00's inheriting systems that weren't great. They're in the middle of a math problem. Upgrades to the system/architecture ~ supported by the customer base. If they can't meet the standards of a perfect service they have to make it up with customer support to triage the problem. I've had a good experience with Cox and like the service they provide. You run into the occasional a*hole that slips through the hiring filters or a person having a bad day but for the most part the service protects the brand. Which they can leverage into loyalty. If you're having a problem and don't want to stick it out you might try a competitor or Starlink went wide and still might have a spot open in your area, but from my experience Cox values their customers and want to make things right.

Starlink is full for now in my area 🙂 but the tmobile 4G is working for now.
I've been an 8 year member of cox, when the service works great, but like now they are trying to pretend a problem doesn't exiss, deceptively passing costs on to the end user who is having users to buy a new modem, buy cox care, but be in the exact same boat during "their" troubleshooting.
I don't think they care at all from my experience and my neighbors. They just had her buy a new modem and the problem is there. It costs too much to care.
You have two customers (Im gathering more), two addresses, different devices and they are still punishing their customers instead of just looking into it it, they dont have to have an instant fix, just forward progress.
but its out of our hands. My second tech visit is saturday 10-12 after my neighbors 8-10 first tech visit.
Document, document, FCC&FTC complaints. I hope to help cox get a few hundred if not 1000 complaints before the end of the year. We can only help whats in our control.
