Can you share some of the steps you tried? Being a IT guy you must know never to take the user's word for it and want to see the data for yourself. 🙂 Though if the your getting a blinking red light, that would seem to indicate you are getting no signal. Have you tried bypassing any splitters? Do you have a amp? Have you checked your demarc and drop?
i only have 1 connection from wall to router, checked the config & everything looks good. I dont suspect the cables as it has been intact for the last 6months at least

How does the coaxial get from the street/pole to that outlet? Do you have more the one outlet in your house? If so, there must be a splitter connecting them together. It could be in your demarc or behind the outlet.

Then it seems you are stuck waiting for a technician. If you are looking to see if others in your area are effected, you might try DSLReports or Reddit.
