Why have cox flags marking buried cable been in my front yard for months? I can’t find anyone with a definitive explanation to talk to. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Same thing happened on my street due to an exposed cable that needs burying. I thought we might be neighbors.
If there are no signs of an exposed cable, you might want to call 811 (the national call-before-you-dig phone number) to see if there was a locate ticket that is now expired or closed. They should be able to tell you why the flags were placed and if it's okay to remove them.
