That's the way I understand it, too. But the wireless receiver was connected to my regular Pano SSID which was what I used for my home wifi before I hooked up the Velop. So it seems like the "cable TV" data is just passing over the internet like everything else. Yesterday was my lowest day of data usage in over a week, so it appears that this is the case - that it's not using the allotment of data. The 2 wired boxes are MoCA, which is just using the internal wiring to pass internet data instead of running ethernet cable, so it's like they're hardwired to a switch instead of using wireless. I really think that Cox can distinguish between what is "cable TV" data and what is streaming data without there being literally two different paths for the data.
No matter to what device you're connecting the 4K boxes, the data still passes through the Panoramic modem. Perhaps there's an added level of encapsulation between the Pano and 4K boxes. The 4K box probably encapsulates regular programming but not streaming content.
I don't know...just stabbing in the dark.
