Not sure if this email is from Cox or not, afraid of phishing scam.

    First...remove the link from your post to avoid someone from clicking it.  Its underlying URL is a Tiny URL (gibberish) to a potentially malicious site.

    I also flagged for a moderator to remove the link.

    Second...it's fake.  It contains bad spelling, bad grammar and bad intentions.

    "...to avoid loosing..."  C'mon...a six-year-old wrote this.

    How to edit your forum posts

    As a first-time poster, the longer it takes you to remove the link, the more suspicious it becomes that you may have faked receipt of an email in order to post a malicious link in a public forum.  Was changing your picture to an older couple, after your first post, done to throw off suspicion?  The fact a first-time poster didn't hang around for a reply is another reason to be suspicious. 

    @Becky Does Social Media Support investigate suspicious posts?  You might want to review this OP's contact information and customer history.

      Also, the text doesn't appear to have been typed from a keyboard.  If you copy-and-paste the text into a text-only document, Notepad or TextEdit, it appears as gibberish.  However, if you replace all instances of "casdfht09," it will resolve.

      I see davida2 is in here so perhaps he can remove the link.

        A moderator should remove the link.  But if anybody clicks it now, after multiple warnings, it will be their own fault if they get malware.  Moderators may not be able to determine malicious intent, but I think this OP should be investigated.  I doubt we'll see the OP's current user name in the Forums again though.

    It's a phishing attempt, forward the email as an attachment to phishingreport@cox.net and then deleted it.

    Hi Farrarserv,

    This appears to be a spam or phishing email. I would recommend deleting it if you have not already.

    Do not follow or click on any embedded links. Delete the email from your Inbox and empty your deleted items folder so that neither you nor anyone else who accesses this email account acts on this email.

    You can report phishing emails targeted at Cox customers by sending the email as an attachment to phishingreport@cox.net. If the phishing email originated from a Cox customer, meaning a Cox IP, it should also be sent to abuse@cox.net.

    Note: All suspect phishing emails must be forwarded as an attachment. Do not just forward the message.

        @Bruce, the OP currently has a reputation in the top 5% of the community.  (That doesn't say much for the other 95%).  You were right.  That reputation % thing really doesn't work.
