Just upgraded from preferred to Internet 100.. not getting 100.

My speeds are identical to what they were with Preferred. Now that i'm at 100, I see no difference from any speed tests conducted from cox or from other speedtest websites.

I've restarted my cable modem, and any other network device. I've even tried direct connection through my modem. Surfboard 6141.

Cox, what gives?

  • Hi Goldfishphx, are you testing your speeds while connected to a router? Temporarily bypass your router, connect a computer directly to your modem using an ethernet cord, and power cycle the modem. (Unplug the power to the modem, wait a few seconds, and then plug the power back in.) Then, run the Cox Speed Test again and let us know if the results are better, or worse. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator

I already mentioned that I did a direct connection to the modem via Ethernet in my original post. I've restarted the modem a few times already and verified SNR, Up/Down stream power and modulation.

I've concluded through the process of elimination that there is nothing out of order on my end.
