You are right though, I may be being lazy to continue to work to fix a router issue they have recently introduced based on my experience of 5 years of good service prior.
Spent far too many hours troubleshooting already with them. On to my day job and another provider.

I don't see why you just don't get your own modem and router. Why do you pay Cox to rent their junk? Do you need it for wireless TV boxes or something?

That is a good idea. Any recommendations? Just basic usage, TVs, cameras, and wireless.

For modem I like either the Arris S33 or SB8200 if you want to save money. For router, I like the RT-AX86u Pro or gl-inet Flint 2 router. Those are Wifi 6 routers. Do you have any Wifi 6E or Wifi 7 devices? Also, is your speed under 1Gbps? ::edit:: That's my suggestion for a central wifi router. Good for small to medium houses. If you have a larger house a mesh or controller/AP system might be more prudent. It depends on what you need and how much time and money you want to invest.
BTW, are you sure the issue is the Panoramic gateway? Like have you ruled out signal and Cox service issues? If the old gateway was DOCSIS 3.0 and the new gateway is DOCSIS 3.1, it could be related to DOCSIS 3.1 signal issues you didn't have with the older gateway. Just don't want you throwing money at a issue you haven't isolated yet.
