I have the same problem. After spending hours on live chat last night with someone who tried to tell me I couldn't access my router to change passwords because there was an outage in my area. I was chatting via the cox connection. Absolute no help tech support. So I finally figureout what app he was talking about in the chat and then when I tried to log in I am going in circles. What a waste of time. Meanwhile my wifi is being pirated and I am consuming data at rates that are not humanly possible and getting charged for overage but I have no way to control my own router.
Do you have the same gateway?
Either way, you don't need the app to change the wifi password. Just login locally at 192.168.0.1 > User;admin password;password(unless changed) > Connection > Wifi > Click edit next to each wifi network and change the password.
PS. NEVER use chat. They are outsourced overseas, know very little technically, and are forced to follow a script. You are better off contacting Cox through one of the methods in the welcome post or by calling them. If Tier 1 can't help, ask for Tier 2/CAG.
