GIGABLAST consistently below 800 mbps

I have the Gigablast plan. My speedtests are always <= 700 mbps. I have tried resetting both my modem and router with no improvement. This happens during any part of the day. Why should I pay my MONTHLY BILL IN FULL if I am not getting my full service. My speedtests were consistently around 930 mbps in 2019 and the beginning of 2020. What happened? Please fix it or adjust my billing!

  • @Dsmkim, your modem is up and running with a good signal. Are you experiencing this issue on multiple devices in the home or just one? Also, what speeds do you get with a direct to modem connection? -Allan, Cox Support Forums Moderator.

if you only check with cox, you'll just about always show lower than other servers in the area.

i show 500+ on my 500 ultimate plan, both wired/wifi with other servers.

What modem are you using? I have the Netgear C7800. The tech found 940 going into the modem, but on speedtest.net, I get around 330. That's terrible.

We get these reduced speeds with all devices, whether wired or wifi. As I said in my other post, the tech tested it behind the modem and got 940, so there is something slowing it down either in the modem or in the computers. But it shouldn't be in all the computers, so could it be the modem? But this modem is on the list supplied by Cox. Just to be sure, I tried the Arris modem and got the same results. This is really disturbing to pay extra for the service and not get even close to the speed advertised.

You should see my service. I was told that I had to upgrade my modem and router. I did. I'm paying for gigablast and getting 1/10th the speed at legitimately 94 mbps. On my network scans it shows the speed climbs rapidly and then flatlines at 94mbps. It looks like a throttle even though they claim they do not throttle service. I'm sick of this company.
