It only gets deleted if it hasn't been used/accessed in 90 days. Open it in a mail client once a month, and you won't have any problems.
Do you have to use a mail client? Can you login into Webmail?

You can login to webmail, clients are just easier, Click/done.

There have been spans of time when I haven't logged into Webmail for a year. I have the POPPeeper program monitoring 5 accounts and Cox has never warned me about my account being unused.
POPPeeper is a very "lightweight" client and logs in everyday. You don't even need to click.

Nifty. Even has a webmail plugin for when you can't use POP/IMAP. Not something I would ever use but interesting none the less.

I loved those desktop icons of Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook but one-by-one, they not longer supported these notification tools.
I stumbled across PP about 8 years ago but didn't really trust it. I tested it with long-since abandoned accounts (Juno, Excite, etc) and it worked fine. It's just one lightweight program monitoring the in-boxes of five accounts. It is kinda nifty.
