Is McAfee initiating the uninstaller? Yes. Again, why would I want McAfee to initiate uninstalling my security software?
When you click on uninstall, is the uninstaller initiating itself, or are YOU initiating it? Does it matter if it was called by the control panel, or if you went to the folder and manually clicked on 'uninstall'?
The bottom line, is there is no difference between your initiating it from the control panel, or allowing another piece of software you are WANTING to install, to call the uninstaller. A difference that makes no difference, is no different.

If I am installing McAfee, I do not want McAfee initiating the uninstall of my other programs. I never chose to uninstall other programs from its uninstaller or Control Panel. Why would I want McAfee uninstalling programs I downloaded, installed and want on my PC?

Because you CANNOT run multiple AV programs at the same time, as will cause problems. so, when you install one, be it Mcafee, Norton, etc etc, they will ALWAYS uninstall other AV programs to prevent issues.

Of course you can. I've had multiple AV programs for years. Most people with Windows and a 3rd party AV already have two programs. Of course, there is a essential step for 2 AV programs.
