Any particular reason a login page was added to my modem and i cant login to it?

Any particular reason a login page was added to my modem and i cant login to it? Why am I no longer permitted to see the signal statistics? What are the credentials for it? I've tried the arris defaults of admin:password . This is 192.168.100.1 on a customer owned modem. Not rented.
