Step By Step on how to set up a Tivo Roamio with cable card & tuning adapter

Are there any step by step exact instructions on how to set up a Tivo Roamio with the tuning adapter & cablecard. Wherever I look on this site, everyone has different ways that they hooked these components up.   I have my cablecard & Motorola tuning adapter. I have printed all of the cox provided instructions for the tuning adapter & cablecard. But I have read several articles where the firmware of the tuning adapter is not correct and needs to be updated, etc.  So I have my Tivo in front of me along with the tuning adapter. I connect them in parallel using a 2 way splitter.  Which one do I plug in first, do I connect the USB right away, or do I let them both go online by themselves?. At what point do I insert the cablecard ?   The tuning adapter instructions make no mention of the cablecard, and the cablecard instructions make no mention of the tuning adapter.

Thank You

Here's a PDF with step by step instruction on installing the tuning adapter. It states on the top to install the Cable Card before installing the tuning adapter. Tivo will tell you to put the POE filter at the point of entry. If you only have the one device, installing the filter at the splitter will be fine. If you have other MoCA devices that will be accessing the DVR recordings, you will need to put the filter at the point of entry of the cable or use MoCA splitters. I was also able to find a short video to help explain the set up.

Careful, Stephanie. There are POE splitters (which have POE filters built into the input leg of the splitter), and there are MoCA splitters, which simply have reduced port-to-port isolation at MoCA frequencies. If being used instead of a POE filter and a splitter, a POE splitter should be used (NOT a MoCA splitter.)

Note the large photo. The device is clearly labeled as a "Point of Entry Splitter."

Note that these "MoCA Series Splitters have reduced port-to-port isolation at MoCA frequencies, but do NOT have POE filters on the input leg.
