Cable box rebooting

My cable box keeps rebooting on its own. Why is this happening????  I know when it's going to happen because it changes the channel randomly right before the box shuts down.

Have you already check the power cord and coax cable to make sure all ends are secure?

mine re-boots daily between 3-5a.

Hi Bearone2, if you have our Contour 2 service, the time that the daily update takes place can be changed through the device settings on the receiver:

i wasn't aware of being able to change but 3-5 is good because i'm usually sleeping. several times when i've gotten up to let cats in/out i'll see the re-boot.

What make/model?  What software version:  (Contour > Settings (Gear Icon) > About?

Its software might be trying to update but encountering a problem.
