OK my parents just got cox internet. Problem is they put the modem in the garage (separate kitchen) from the house. They got very little WiFi signal in the house, so they went to best buy to buy a signal booster and of course they talked them into a new modem and router ( Motorola SBG6782). I went hook it up for them and the signal is really good in the house. But the SBG6782 has no phone capabilities which they specified they needed. I talked with a Cox tech rep and they recommended a Motorola TG2472 which would fit their needs with the phone capability. My question is, I do not know the distance of the TG2472 as compared to the SBG6782? I found where the SBG6782 is good for about 450' but nothing on the TG2472. It only needs about 100' but has a couple of brick walls and a couple interior walls to go through. Can anyone help me determine if the TG2472 will work for them? Also i assume with a booster cuts down on the speed?

If you like the performance of what you have for Internet another solution would be to simply install a separate eMTA modem for the phone service. They are provided free of charge by us so long as you have active phone service plus if you're going to use your own modem/router for Internet you would also save on rental fees for that functionality going the router you've started.
