On 9/18 i had my packages changed due to pricing. i got home plugged everything in and my router told me that it needed to change its address to avoid conflicts with the new device. Then i noticed a "Cox Wifi by Spectrum" show up. After connecting to it and turning off the Pano device, i have identified this coming from that device. I do not want anything in my house broadcasts its signals to the public like that.
I have been on the phone 7 times in the last 2 days with Cox/Spectrum trying to disable this Cox Hotspot. I have been blindly transferred to a dropped call. I have been told twice that system was down and they couldn't get into my account. I have been troubleshooting for 1 hour with a person and told by another he would call me back and never did. Even sat with the chat bot for a bit that connected me to an agent and couldnt turn it off.
I do not wish to have my house be a hotspot for the neighborhood, i dont care if they need a login to Cox/Spectrum or not to use it. I dont want people using stuff i have to pay for.
There is no option on Security/privacy to turn off the hotspot. I cannot get into the UI to disable the hotspot. (if i have to buy my own modem i'll look into it)
I'm really not very happy about this and I feel like i was lied as this wasn't something that i was told about on the 'sale". I need some more idea or options about turning this off
