My Download speeds are terrible. My upload rate is consistently twice my download speeds. Any ideas what to check. Tried cycling the modem with no improvement.

Hi MGenius,
Let me look at this for you, the download speed does seem to be a little low, based on those speed tests results. Do you currently have your modem connected to a router? If those results are from a wireless connection, I would like to have you hardwire the computer to the router and run the test again. If there is no improvement still, I would recommend connecting the modem directly to the computer to see if the results are the same.

It is wired connection through a router. It was fine this morning @ 6:00 am I was getting 20 Mbps. Now I am back down to 2-3 Mbps. I don't know the system layout in my neighborhood but doubt I should be sharing bandwidth with that many people.

Try turning off other devices on your network, test your internet speed, then bring them back up one at a time. Sometimes phones and other people are using the home network at the same time, splitting the bandwidth while you test speed.

The only thing with the modem's log you posted is the upstream levels are a little high most likely from some kind of feedback but it would not effect the download speeds to that extent. To see if it is usage from other things on the connection if you can hardwire the computer into the modem and bypass the router. (You may need to reset the modem if it does not recognize the change between devices.) Can you test the speeds again and see if they change?
