Spectrum is terrible

Never had outages with cox. Now since spectrum took over the quality has gone downhill and there’s been outages. Will be switching to another provider.

Hello 737x10,

The changes made have been in name only and would not impact your service signal in any way. I apologize for any misconceptions leading you to believe otherwise. Please reach out for assistance at https://www.facebook.com/spectrum or DM us on X @Ask_Spectrum https://x.com/Ask_Spectrum. We are happy to help.

I am concerned. Since the ONLY thing that has happened was a change in name, no equipment changes, no personnel changes, Nothing physical has changed!

Since this is a forum where customers like ourselves can assist one another, how about some information? What is happening, WiFi? Ethernet? Modem offline? Can't help if there isn't any information on what is happening!

WiFi is down in my neighborhood in Gilbert AZ. It has heppened every morning, every day this week. The Cox/Spectrum app shows the outage. But since the AI Chat and the AI phone won't let me speak to anyone, I am here.

I just want to know WHY these outages are happening every day, and when I might see them end? I work from home and this is extremely inconvenient every day.

And if these are planned outages, it would be great to know that in avdance.

I have thought for many YEARS that Cox was the wirst possible Internet provider on the e continent. The appearance of Spectrum has proven me wrong on that point. That designation now belongs to Spectrum. I’ve had more down time and more internet interruptions with my internet since Spectrum took over than I had with Cox over the past 8 months COMBINED AND TRIPPLED!

Cox sucked, Spectrum SUCKS PURPLE PEANUTS!

I like how they say only the name has changed, but now all of a sudden, coincidentally we are all having the same issue with our internet

Since cox switched to spectrum on my Xbox my NAT type is now “moderate” not “open” and UPNP is “mot successful”

This never was an issue when it was cox (for the last 10 years) and my modem/router is the same.

how do i solve this problem??

Since this is controlled by the ROUTER, what router are you using? Once I know more information, I can assist you.

@dawn1418 I’ve been having this exact issue, we had someone come in and replace our router because we thought it was just the WiFi in general, but still having the same issue with the Xbox, seems worse now. Can’t open any apps, says NAT is moderate or unavailable.

@ emkk14  Technicolor manufactures that device. I would put a technicolor device in my worst enemy's home, they are ALREADY mad enough at me. Unless you HAVE to use that I would suggest getting your own equipment and returning that piece of junk.

@dawn1418 I too am having this issue. I used to be able to download a game in about 5-10 minutes and updates took even less with download speeds in the 600-700 sometimes a little higher (I have the gigabyte plan mind you) and now I’m between 10mbps-100mbps. It took me over an hour to update BF6 last night.

Same here. Since they took over, my internet cuts on --literally constantly-- and goes completely out around set times (6:30 am) and my speeds on any non-spectrum speed test are 2-8mbps instead of the 100 I should be getting or even the 75 it shows on the spectrum speed test.

Cox wasn't great, but I never felt the need to HAVE to leave them. I HAVE to leave Spectrum. "Changed in name only," my rear end. I've started telling people they'd be better off even with AT&T and they're known to be hot garbage.

@noemail7156dc Since the hardware/software/people/infrastructure are completely unchanged, that means YOUR problems need to be troubleshot. Are you testing over ethernet, or WiFi? What modem/router are you using?
