Modem power-cycling randomly

I've read a couple of threads on this forum regarding similar issues with their internet disconnections. Looking at the logs though seem to be a little different. I've contacted customer support a few times, the first time stating there was an area problem that was currently being fixed, the second plus times there was no area interference, and they did not notice any issues with the connection itself.

1. The modem lights do go out very briefly, as if it just restarts the connection.

2. One time I decided to power cycle the modem myself to see if it would reset whatever is causing the disconnections. I waited 2 minutes, and when I went to turn it back on, none of the lights came back on at all. I figured the modem/router had malfunctioned, but after 10-15 minutes the lights came back on and the internet was back up.

Here is my log file for the past 5 hours. I'm using the NETGEAR CG3000D-RG Modem/Router.

The last time I contacted customer support, they recommended I swap my modem out for another. However, before I take the trip, I figured I would give the forums a try.

Thank you

Could you give more info on this? When you say none of the lights, do you mean the power light too? If so, and the modem sometimes takes 15-20min to power on when unplugged, that sounds like a hardware issue, and suggest returning it. I actually suggest getting a stand alone modem and router, but I think that is outside the scope of your question.

It was a strange thing, it's never happened before. No lights were on except a faint light when looking where the lights are supposed to be on. I thought the modem simply was done, then 10-15 minutes later, the lights just came back on, and internet was back up.

The signal levels look good but the modem is definitely rebooting for some reason.  It might be best to arrange for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further for a possible signal or equipment issue.
