IPv6 Settings

I chatted with a Cox CSR yesterday who told me that IPv6 is now available for residential customers in my area (hampton roads) and that I should have it.  I have a Cisco DOCSIS 3.0 modem, so thought I would set it up.  The CSR was unable to provide any settings information only that "it should just work."

I've tried DHCPv6, DHCPv6 PD, and autoconfig.  I sniffed the connection on my router and can see IPv6 routing advertisements coming from Cox (I assume), but no response to my DHCP requests, and nothing when autoconfig routes outbound traffic to the router advertising on my network.

I tend to think IPv6 really isn't enabled for me, but is there any information available on what options SHOULD work so I can at least narrow down the setup I'm trying to get working?

Currently there is no set timeline for this to be enabled in the Hampton Roads area.  I apologize for the mis-information.

Thanks for the answer, was hoping that with IPv4 officially exhausted that v6 would now be rolling out :)   Is there a place to watch to see when it is?

Rest assured we have enough v4 space to service our customers' immediate needs.  We hope to have most markets up and running in the near future however I do not have a time table which we are able to share at this time.
