IMAP email server problems back?
Just about a year ago the IMAP email server timeout problems started and took eight months to resolve. For the past week I have started to get the same error messages and looking at posts on this Forum, it looks like others are starting to have the same problems. Cox was in denial for almost 6 months before they upgraded their server capacity and it looks like their infrastructure is reaching that point again. I hope it gets resolved sooner this time without having to file complaints with the FCC.

I having so many problems sending and receiving emails lately. They are getting lost and people aren't receiving them. What the *** is going on. Very frustrated. I've been a COX customer for 20 years now. VERY VERY Frustrated.

Yup. Been several weeks now - perhaps a month or two. Intermittent issues here with sending and/or receiving email. Mostly I get invalid password errors - which is ridiculous. I JUST received the email I'm replying to - how can the password be ok for receive but not send? How can a password be invalid one minute, preventing me from receiving new emails, then I hit the Receive button again and all is fine? I just got off the phone with Cox, who said they are getting reports that Apple users are experiencing these problems. Of course, I'm on a MacBook, and an iPhone....*sigh*. No help, of course - all they want to do is verify settings which we know are good because SOMETIMES email works just fine. The problem is clearly with Cox, yet they have no solutions, no information on what the problem actually is, and no estimates on when it will be resolved. So once this continues for another period of time, I'll just call back, try to get some billing credits, and lodge my complaint again. Very frustrating.

As Yogi Berra used to say
"This is deja vu all over again"
If you want to see the frustrations from last year go to
http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/5/t/8030.aspx
Calling tech support is worthless as you have seen. If fact even after Cox Corportae office had admitted to me that the problem was related to server capacity, the customer support, and the moderators in this Forum, were still playing the 'settings' game. Last year a number of Customers filed complaints with the FCC and that finally got some action as Cox couldn't just blow off the customers. The FCC comp[laints require a formal response from Cox Corporate legal counsel.

I can look into this for you. What email program are you using? What error messages are you receiving if any?

I can understand how frustrating that can be, we would like you to report those issues when you run into so that we are aware our customers are still experiencing problems. Any specific information you can provide would also be helpful when you run into those problems.

Well, I'm seeing exactly the opposite. Being having the same 'Enter Network Password' issues for the past 3-4 months. Intermittent and the next push of email generally goes through fine. Was only on my desktop and then appeared on my BB when I upgraded to Classic. Been 'working' the issue with Tier2 Via email but she went AWOL.
Lo and behold I have not the issue in the last few days either on W7 desktop nor phone. Strange, but I'll take it.
